Dhanush
Venkatesh Prabhu, better known as Dhanush, is basically a powerhouse in Tamil cinema. Seriously, the guy does it all—acting, producing, writing lyrics, singing—he’s like that one friend who’s weirdly good at everything and still manages to stay humble. Dhanush hit it big in 2011, grabbing the National Film Award for Best Actor for “Aadukalam.” Not long after, he pretty much broke the internet with “Why This Kolaveri Di.” If you didn’t have that song stuck in your head back then, were you even on YouTube? The track just exploded and became the most viewed Indian song on the platform at the time, which is wild.
He kicked off his acting journey in 2002 with “Thulluvadho Ilamai,” a coming-of-age flick directed by his own dad, Kasthuri Raja. That’s some serious family business right there. Fast forward a decade, and Dhanush had already stacked up 25 films under his belt—most of them in Tamil, but he wasn’t shy about trying new things. In 2013, he jumped into Bollywood with “Raanjhanaa,” and just like that, the North Indian audience got a taste of his style.
By 2014, Dhanush wasn’t just a one-hit wonder. He’d snagged five Filmfare Awards, proving he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Whether he’s acting his heart out, writing quirky lyrics, or belting out songs, Dhanush keeps the audience hooked. And honestly? The dude’s work ethic is next level.
