Diarmuid de Faoite
Diarmuid’s got one of those careers that kind of makes you pause and wonder if he’s secretly got a clone tucked away somewhere, because the guy doesn’t seem to slow down. Between acting, writing, and coaching dialogue, he’s been everywhere—films, TV, stage, you name it. His recent film gigs include The Watchers (2024) and that haunting drama Foscadh, not to mention Finky, Black '47, and Pilgrimage. And there’s more on the way—two new features, Bring Them Down and Froggie, are in the works.
On TV, he nailed a lead in Corp+Anam (yeah, IFTA-nominated—no biggie), narrated the award-winning An Bhoirinn, and wrote and performed the documentary Pádraic Ó Conaire, which bagged a Celtic Media Festival win. He’s popped up in a wild mix of shows across channels like CBS, BBC NI, TG4, and RTÉ—seriously, the man’s as versatile as they come. Plus, he’s got another documentary, An Snáithe Órga/The Golden Thread, brewing with some big names behind it.
Don’t even get started on stage work—Edward in Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me, Jack in The Weir, Travis in Paris Texas, and plenty more. He’s performed from Europe to the States to Australia. Music-wise, he’s producing a national tour, narrating with the National Folk Orchestra, and co-wrote The Playboy of The Western World – The Musical. Critics? They love him. From “exquisitely poised” to “superb” and a “roller coaster of emotion,” the reviews are glowing.
