Drew Ray Tanner
Drew Ray Tanner rolled into the world on February 12th, 1992, in Victoria, B.C.—not exactly Hollywood, but hey, everyone’s gotta start somewhere, right? If you’ve ever binged Riverdale or caught somewhere Between, you’ve probably seen his face. The acting bug bit him early, right there on his grandparents’ living room rug. His grandpa—retired Canadian soldier, magician on the side—would bust out magic tricks that left little Drew starry-eyed. Eventually, Drew started trying out the tricks himself, and soon enough, the two were running their own little family circus. Those reactions? Totally addictive. That spark just never went away.
He jumped into local theater, got into improv by 14 (which, let’s be honest, is a pretty classic theater kid move), and by his last year of high school, he was nabbing lead roles. Four weeks on stage, and by closing night, he was basically sold—acting was it. That summer, he dove right into auditions for TV and film. Wild fact: He booked his first gig in R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour literally the day before turning 19. Of course, chasing an acting dream isn’t all glitz—he hustled through a bunch of random jobs just to keep afloat. We’re talking everything from slinging drinks to selling cars, and, weirdest of all, building chainsaws. Talk about a grind. But hey, it worked out.
