Griffin Hood
Griffin’s been grinding in the film biz for years, bouncing between writing, acting, and producing—yeah, he’s one of those “do it all” types. The one thing everybody seems to bring up? He co-wrote The Baytown Outlaws with Barry Battles. That flick’s got a wild cast: Billy Bob Thornton (honestly, does that guy ever phone it in?), Clayne Crawford (the dude from Rectify and Lethal Weapon—always intense), and Travis Fimmel (Vikings fans, you know him). Not exactly a no-name lineup, right? The script itself snagged a spot on the 2009 Black List, which if you don’t know, is basically Hollywood’s “these scripts are fire, somebody make them” list. Pretty big deal.
Griffin spent a chunk of his life out in Los Angeles, hustling like everyone else trying to catch a big break. City of palm trees, smog, and endless auditions—classic LA story. But after all those years, he packed up and headed back to Alabama. Maybe for the quieter life, or maybe just for some decent barbecue and less traffic. Either way, he’s not your average behind-the-scenes guy. The dude’s got range—writing scripts, jumping in front of the camera, and wrangling productions. Doesn’t look like he’s slowing down anytime soon, honestly.
