Henry Czerny

Henry Czerny, born way back on February 8, 1959, in Toronto (yeah, that Toronto), has been around the block in Hollywood. You’ve probably seen his face in a bunch of stuff even if you don’t recognize the name right away. He’s that guy you spot in Mission: Impossible from ‘96—yeah, the original one with Tom Cruise running everywhere and doing all those wild stunts. Czerny played Eugene Kittridge, the CIA dude who’s always just a little too suspicious and somehow manages to look both annoyed and impressed at the same time. He’s got a knack for playing the slick, buttoned-up authority figure, honestly. Before that, he turned up in Clear and Present Danger (1994)—the Harrison Ford Jack Ryan flick—where he brought some serious tension to the screen. Czerny’s got this way of making every scene feel like something big is about to go down, even if he’s just handing over a folder. He pops up again in The Pink Panther (2006), which is wild, because going from spy movies to Steve Martin slapstick is not the most obvious leap. But hey, it works. Off-screen, he’s been married to Claudine Cassidy since August 2001, and they’ve got a kid together. Not much tabloid drama to speak of—he keeps it pretty chill, at least by Hollywood standards. All in all, Czerny’s that actor who makes everything he’s in just a little sharper, a little more interesting. If you spot him in the credits, you know you’re in for a good time.
