Jacob Richard
Jacob “Jake” Gordon Richard grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, born to John and Janet, with a little sister named Sarah tagging along. Not exactly the sort to sit still, Jake’s early years were spent running around Michigan until the family packed up and landed in Knox, Indiana when he hit seven. Things got interesting when a camcorder showed up in middle school—suddenly, Jake was Spielberg, and “Jake Productions” was the next big thing (at least in his living room). With buddies and family roped in, they churned out over ten hours of homemade shorts—often weird, sometimes hilarious, always a bit off-the-wall.
High school in Knox? Jake wasn’t just a face in the crowd. He took the stage for plays and musicals, soaking up the limelight like a true pop culture junkie. He clocked hours at a small video store, then climbed the ladder to assistant manager at Blockbuster, back when that was actually a thing. After scoring an Associate’s at Ancilla College, Ball State called his name, and he grabbed a Bachelor’s before heading off to Fort Wayne.
Now, Fort Wayne’s home turf. Jake’s juggling life with his son and two daughters, probably still quoting movie lines at the dinner table. There’s this thread running through everything he does—a real love for film, a knack for pulling people together, and a memory bank full of pop culture trivia that could stump even the nerdiest fan.
