Jamie Nelsen, ACE, has this wild, winding path through Hollywood that honestly reads like a masterclass in versatility. She kicked things off as a reality TV picture editor, and not just any shows—think The Apprentice, Top Chef, Project Runway, and yeah, she actually snagged an Emmy for her magic on Project Runway. Emmy nominations just seemed to follow her around. But Jamie didn’t get stuck in the unscripted world. She jumped into comedy editing with some serious heavy-hitters: Netflix’s Arrested Development (that show’s a whole mood), HBO’s Insecure, and blackish on ABC, which landed her the ACE Eddie Award for Best Comedy Editing. She’s not just about TV either. Jamie’s got feature film chops, too—Netflix’s You People with Kenya Barris running the show, and Bucky F*king Dent from the mind of David Duchovny. On top of that, she produced the whole .ish franchise for ABC Studios—mixed-ish, black-ish (yeah, the Emmy-nominated one), and grown-ish, which critics couldn’t stop raving about on Freeform. These days, she’s the Senior VP of Post Production for Barris’ Khalabo Ink Society, shaping the way stories get told behind the scenes. Variety Magazine even shouted her out in their Below-the-Line Impact Report as someone to watch. Jamie’s a founding member of Black in Post, fighting to open doors for Black talent in post production. She’s got her card for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, she’s in the Motion Picture Editors Guild, and she’s repping American Cinema Editors.
