Janet Borrus
Janet’s career? All over the map, in the best way. She’s dipped her toes in acting, screenwriting, and wrangling high schoolers in theatre class—turns out, there’s not much difference between backstage chaos and a bunch of teenagers. She’s popped up on shows everybody’s heard of—yeah, “Pretty Little Liars” rings a bell—and even shared scenes with Laurence Freakin’ Fishburne in “Akeelah and the Bee,” so, not exactly amateur hour. Recently, she’s been filming for Apple’s “Government Cheese” (which, let’s be real, sounds like a wild ride) and an offbeat comedy called “Omi.”
The stage isn’t a stranger, either. Janet’s starred in heavyweight plays on both coasts, not to mention touring the country with her solo show “The Ramona Roses,” which Variety called “exuberant and hilarious”—not your average one-woman gig. She’s got a voice made for animation, commercials, audiobooks, you name it; honestly, she’s the person you’ve probably heard without realizing.
Education-wise, she’s got the credentials, with Oberlin College and London’s Drama Studio on her resume. Offstage, Janet’s married to actor Christopher Grove (showbiz power couple, anyone?) and their kid’s a classical violinist, which is just unfair levels of talent in one family. All in all, she’s basically living proof that you don’t have to pick one lane. Why not grab a little bit of everything?
