Jay Michael Ferguson basically jumped into the spotlight when he was just a little kid—six years old, running around Oklahoma, nabbing a role in some local Peter Pan production. That was just the kickoff. The guy pretty much grew up with one foot on stage and the other behind the scenes, bouncing between acting, directing, and producing all sorts of theater and TV gigs across Oklahoma. He landed his first film gig at nine. Not bad for a grade-schooler, right? By fifteen, he was all-in, chasing down every film, show, and commercial he could find. His credits? Pretty wild mix—Twister, Rescue 911, Saved by the Bell, some Emmy-winning kids’ series called Wordscape, and a bunch more. He wasn’t shy about the serious stuff, either. In ‘95, he went back home for this big Broadway Sings for the Heartland show, raising cash for victims of the Oklahoma City Bombing. That night, he shared the stage with legends like Ben Vareen, Sandy Duncan, and Ed Harris—yeah, real heavy-hitters. Fast forward a couple years, and he’s working with Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York herself, producing the Children’s Charity Ball for her American charity. Eventually, Jay Michael flipped the script and started teaching film and acting, packing up his “Show & Business” workshop with Ricki Maslar and taking it all over the world. Even universities like UCLA wanted in. Honestly, the dude’s been everywhere, always mixing it up between stage, screen, and the classroom.
