Juno Rinaldi

Juno Rinaldi grew up soaking in the salty air of Salt Spring Island, BC, firstborn of a creative duo—her mom ran an early education gig, and her dad was a composer who also wrote for film, so yeah, the artsy genes ran strong. She cut her teeth working on National Film Board projects with her dad and totally crushed it in school plays. By grade seven, her teachers pretty much called it: this kid’s gonna act. Senior year, she caught the eye of Canadian director Anne Wheeler while playing Wendy in "Peter Pan." That landed her an audition (and the actual role!) in "The War Between Us," even though she barely had any on-set experience. She basically spent her first term of Grade 12 on location, learning the ropes the old school way. After high school, she dove into Studio 58 at Langara College—kind of a big deal in theatre training—and graduated with honors in ‘99. Theatre work followed: she toured Canada with The Electric Company Theatre, played Helena in "Midsummer's Night Dream" at Caravan Farm Theatre, and co-created "Motherload," a brutally honest look at motherhood, with three other actor-writers (who were, of course, moms too). She also staged "Stationary," which she wrote and starred in alongside her husband, Mike Rinaldi—yes, there were treadmills involved. Juno didn’t just act; she wrote, produced, and even started a darkly funny theatre troupe called Theatre Melee. All the while, she kept grabbing film and TV roles, eventually landing her big break as Frankie on CBC/Netflix’s "Workin’ Moms." Her own short film, "Such a Small Thing," picked up awards and found a permanent spot on CBC Gem. Off-screen, she’s married to Mike and raising two sons, still keeping it real.
