Juno Temple

Juno Temple popped onto the scene with a whole lot of creative blood running through her veins—her mom’s a producer, her dad’s a director, so it’s not like she stood a chance at a “normal” job. The name “Juno” even has a story: her parents were hiking at the Grand Canyon, found this spot called Juno Temple, and boom, that was that. Classic showbiz move. She’s got English and Scottish roots, by the way. She started out in the States, little kid soaking up the American life for four years, then the family packed up for the UK and landed in Somerset. Her dad showed her this old black-and-white French fantasy flick, La Belle et la Bête—she was four, totally transfixed, and declared she wanted to act. Her dad chucked her into one of his movies, Vigo, when she was just a kid, but she ended up on the cutting room floor. Not exactly a fairy-tale beginning. Couple years later, he gave her another shot in Pandaemonium. Guess persistence runs in the family. Juno spent her school years bouncing through boarding schools—King’s College in Taunton, then Bedales in Hampshire, where she picked up Drama for A-Levels (scored a B and two C’s, not that anyone cares once you’re famous). At fifteen, she got serious, told her folks she was all-in for acting. Her mom spotted an open audition for Notes on a Scandal, Juno landed the role, and suddenly she’s Cate Blanchett’s daughter. That cracked the door wide open: next thing, she’s in Atonement, dyed her hair red for the part. 2009 rolls around, she heads for LA, chasing the Hollywood dream full throttle.
