Kanna Hashimoto

Born in Fukuoka back in '99, Kanna Hashimoto pretty much exploded onto the scene in Japan’s entertainment world. She’s one of those rare folks who can actually act, sing, and make you laugh with her variety show appearances—kind of a triple threat, honestly. If you’re even remotely into Japanese cinema, you probably caught her as the lead in “Sailor Suit and Machine Gun: Graduation” (2016). Yeah, the title sounds insane, but that’s half the charm. She nailed the whole schoolgirl-with-a-machine-gun vibe, and somehow made it work—half-cute, half-badass. Not stopping there, she also showed up in “Gintama” (2017), which, if you know anything about manga or anime, is basically the holy grail for fanservice and chaos. Kanna played Kagura, and, man, she really leaned in—wig, weird accent, that whole slapstick attitude. It’s hard not to remember her after that. Oh, and let’s not forget “Assassination Classroom” (2015), where she got mixed up with a tentacled alien teacher (don’t ask, it’s Japan). She brought this quirky, energetic spark to the role that you just don’t see every day. Even outside acting, she’s all over commercials and idol stuff.
