Laura Warner
Laura Warner, born February 10, 1962, in Wadsworth, Ohio, has one of those stories you don’t just skim over. She kicked things off in the film world with none other than Dino De Laurentiis at North Carolina Film Studios—so yeah, she started out with a bang. After taking a break to raise two kids (and let’s be real, parenting is a wild ride on its own), she came roaring back to movies about a decade ago and hasn’t let up since.
Once she landed in Mississippi, Laura got down to business, producing a bunch of films and documentaries. She didn’t stop there either—she’s also a recording artist and the brains behind Dakmon Talent. Not to brag or anything, but her debut feature “Where I Begin” snagged the Best Mississippi Film Award at the Mississippi International Film Festival in 2011. Pretty sweet, right?
Laura’s not one to stick to a single lane. She’s acted, produced, wrangled locations, handled casting, managed productions, and even worked her magic as a makeup artist. Her film credits are stacked: “B.B. King: On the Road,” “Attack of the Southern Fried Zombies,” “Don’t Kill It,” “Saved by Grace,” “Texas Heart,” “Acre Beyond the Rye,” and “Forced Move.” That’s just a taste.
She’s got a real thing for traveling and, honestly, she’s super proud to be a part of the Mississippi film scene. Laura’s career is just loaded with hustle, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.
