Ludwig Göransson
Ludwig Göransson's basically the musical genius who pops up everywhere, even if you didn’t realize it was him. This guy’s fingerprints are all over some of the biggest movies and TV shows from the last decade or so. Seriously, if you’ve heard the wild, pulsing soundscapes in Black Panther or felt like running a marathon after watching Creed, that’s all Ludwig. He’s got this knack for blending big cinematic scores with something totally fresh—like, how many composers can jump between the deep bass of Venom and the playful weirdness of New Girl without missing a beat? Not many, trust me.
He’s from Sweden, but you’d never guess it from how he bounces between genres. The dude’s range is wild—one minute he’s deep in Star Wars territory with The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, the next he’s scoring Tenet, which, let’s be real, is basically an audio fever dream. Don’t forget Fruitvale Station or 30 Minutes or Less—he’s not just sticking to blockbusters. And, he’s been keeping it real with TV too, like Community, which honestly has some of the most underrated background music out there.
On the personal side, he’s been married to Serena McKinney since 2018, and they’ve got a kid together. Kind of nice to see someone killing it at work and still having a life outside of all the Hollywood madness. If you’re into film scores at all, you’ve definitely heard his stuff, even if you didn’t know it. The man’s everywhere, and honestly? The industry’s better for it.
