Luke Norris

Luke, born in June ’85, grew up in Romford, raised solo by his mum, and if you ask him, he’ll tell you straight up—he’s a proud Essex boy through and through. His shot at acting? Pure luck mixed with a bit of kindness—a drama teacher fronted the cash for his National Youth Theatre audition, and bam, doors opened. After that, he hit up the Central School of Speech and Drama, landed the Alan Bates Bursary in ’08, and just kept stacking up wins from there. He’s not just some stage regular, either. Luke’s rocked lead roles—think Tennessee Williams’ ‘Orpheus Descending’ at the Manchester Royal Exchange, and heavy hitters like ‘A View From the Bridge’ and ‘Blue/Orange’ at the Young Vic. But honestly, he’s not just about the acting. Dude’s got chops as a playwright too. He started writing as his “plan B” back in his teens, just in case acting didn’t pan out. Turned out, he’s got the magic touch there as well. ‘Goodbye to All That’ and ‘So Here We Are’ both pulled in major praise at the Royal Exchange; ‘Growth’ killed it at the Edinburgh Fringe; and ‘Hearts’ made waves at Sheffield Crucible and the National’s Shed. By 2016, Luke had a commission at the Bush Theatre and was popping up in the second season of ‘Poldark’ playing Dr Dwight Enys—a guy who means well but, let’s be real, sometimes messes it up. On the personal front, he’s married to Joanna Horton, his co-star from RSC’s ‘Days of Significance.’ They run Norton Productions together and have a daughter, Albie. Busy guy, right?
