M. S. Bhaskar, man, what a journey he’s had in the Tamil film world. Started out way back in 1987 with this blink-and-miss part in Thirumathi Oru Vegumathi—barely anyone remembers it, honestly. But that didn’t stop him. Through the wild ‘90s, he kept hustling, picking up tiny roles in a bunch of movies—Friends, Thamizhan, you name it—just popping up here and there, sometimes so quick you’d almost miss him if you blinked. Instead of fading out like so many others, he stuck at it, slowly inching his way up the ranks. The guy just wouldn’t quit. Eventually, people started noticing—he got bumped up to proper supporting roles. Suddenly there he is in Sadhu Miranda, then sharing screen space with the big shots in Sivaji: The Boss, and even in the crazy epic Dasavathaaram. If you’ve seen Mozhi or Santhosh Subramaniam, you know he’s the kind of guy who sneaks up on you and steals the scene, even if he’s just in the background. By late 2009, he’d stacked up over 75 films, which is just wild when you think about how many actors disappear after a couple of cameos. Directors like Perarasu and Radha Mohan? Yeah, they pretty much built their movies around having Bhaskar in the mix. He’s one of those faces that pops up and you just know, “Okay, this scene’s about to get good.” Honestly, the man’s a legend in his own right, even if he hasn’t always been the headline.
