Malhar Thakar’s basically a household name if you’re even a little bit into Gujarati films. Born and raised in Ahmedabad, he went to Shree Ambe Vidyalaya and Sheth C.N. Vidyalaya before spending almost a decade slogging it out in theatre. That’s where he really sharpened his acting chops—nine years on stage before making the jump to movies. His big screen debut? Chhello Divas in 2015. Total comedy riot, and people absolutely loved it. The movie blew up, and suddenly everyone knew who Malhar was. But things got seriously real for him the next year with Thai Jashe!, where he starred alongside Manoj Joshi. That one put him on the map for good—he even bagged the best actor award at the 16th Annual Transmedia Gujarati Screen & Stage Awards for playing Pranav Joshi. No small feat, honestly. Love Ni Bhavai came next, and that romantic flick had such a good run it stayed in theatres for 100 days. Not even kidding. Malhar’s not just about acting, though. In 2018, he started his own production house, Ticket Window Entertainment. And when COVID hit, he actually set up an NGO to help people out. Kinda rare to see someone give back like that. He’s also popped up on TV and web series. Way back, he was in the very first episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. And then there’s Do Not Disturb, a Gujarati TV show he did for two seasons. By 2022, he’d made his Bollywood debut with Maja Ma, playing a supporting part. Plus, he’s done music videos—like Shahid Mallya’s ‘Aazmake Na Dekhi’ and Santvani Trivedi’s ‘Aatma ni Odakh’. Dude’s everywhere, honestly.
