Malvika Khatri
Malvika Khatri’s basically the engine that keeps Roy Kapur Films running, if you ask anyone who’s actually paid attention to the Indian film scene in the last few years. She’s held every producer title you can think of—co-producer, executive, associate—you name it. She’s racked up a pretty wild list of credits, too. Like, she helped pull together Last Film Show (2021), which landed on the shortlist for Best International Feature at the Oscars, which is kind of a big deal when you realize only three other Indian films ever got that far. Plus, it snagged Best Gujarati Film at the National Film Awards, so yeah, not exactly small potatoes.
Her resume’s stacked with all sorts of stuff: war drama (Pippa, 2023), comedy-drama (Tumse Na Ho Payega, 2023), historical drama series (Rocket Boys, 2022), crime thriller (Aranyak, 2021), Netflix dance drama (Yeh Ballet, 2020), and even the tearjerker The Sky Is Pink (2019). So, she’s not just sticking to one genre and calling it a day.
Before jumping into Roy Kapur’s world, Malvika was over at Disney and UTV, doing everything from creative development to international distribution, and apparently even corporate strategy (because, why not add that to the list?). She’s got a Bachelor’s in Econ from Wharton—fancy, right?—plus extra creds from Harvard and UCLA in media biz and film producing. Basically, she’s got the chops and the receipts to back it all up.
