Manu Rishi Chadha

Manu Rishi Chadha grew up in Delhi, always obsessed with acting—like, the guy didn’t even bother finishing college because theatre just called to him that loud. He spent a solid decade in the theatre scene, grinding away, learning everything he could. After that, Mumbai started whispering promises, so he took the leap, hoping the city would give him the big stage he’d been dreaming of. Now, it wasn’t all roses. He showed he could act, for sure, but Bollywood’s a tough crowd and the big league slots weren’t exactly falling in his lap. Instead of sulking, Manu flipped the script—literally. He dove into writing, and, boom, along came Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. That film just exploded. Suddenly, everyone in the industry started noticing him, not just as a writer but as an actor, too. The awards followed—Filmfare, IIFA, you name it. His writing chops kept landing him gigs, and he juggled acting here and there, popping up in films like Phas Gaye Re Obama, Kya Dilli Kya Lahore, 21 Topon Ki Salaami, Ek Deewana Tha, What The Fish, Life Ki Toh Lag Gayi, Aankhon Dekhi, and, of course, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye again. Now, after all that, Manu’s circling back to acting with some serious energy. He’s got a juicy role in the Amazon Prime web series Inside Edge, directed by Karan Anshuman and produced by Excel Films. Let’s just say, he’s not fading into the background anytime soon.
