Mariella Gregoria
So, Mariella Gregoria, right? She seriously nailed it in Baby Invasion (2024). The film’s basically this wild ride through a neighborhood that’s suddenly overrun by a bunch of supernaturally clever babies. Yeah, actual babies—think diapers, pacifiers, but also some freaky mind control and chaotic schemes. Mariella plays the lead, a totally frazzled but stubbornly determined daycare worker who realizes something’s off after she catches one baby hacking into the Wi-Fi and another building a makeshift catapult out of bouncy chairs.
The adults in this movie? Total messes. They’re running around, trying to keep up, but these babies have got plans on plans. There’s a whole subplot about a sleep-deprived scientist convinced the formula in baby food is turning kids into geniuses, which, honestly, wouldn’t even be the weirdest thing happening. Mariella’s character teams up with her conspiracy-theorist neighbor (who’s convinced this is all some government plot), and together they try to outsmart the swarm of toddlers who’ve basically turned the block into their own personal playground/command center.
It’s got slapstick chaos, some surprisingly sharp satire about parenting and technology, and of course, Mariella absolutely owns every scene she’s in—whether she’s dodging flying rattles or negotiating with a baby who’s apparently mastered chess. The story keeps twisting, never takes itself too seriously, and if you don’t laugh at least once during the baby-led neighborhood coup, you might actually be a robot.
