Mario Casas grew up in a big, lively family—he’s got four siblings, and, honestly, the whole vibe sounds like something out of an old-school Italian movie, chaos and all. Born in La Coruña, he barely got to know the place before his folks packed up and moved to Barcelona when he was just a kid. His parents were super young—like, his mom was 17 and his dad just 19 when Mario showed up, and then, bam, his sister came along a year later. Wild. His dad’s a cabinetmaker, kind of a jack-of-all-trades who bounced around construction jobs, so moving cities wasn’t a big deal. When Mario hit 18 and decided Madrid was calling, the whole family just went with him. He jokes about them being “Sicilian”—lots of siblings, a strong mom running the show. Mario’s the oldest, then comes Sheila (his partner-in-crime), Christian, Oscar, and little Daniel, who’s so much younger that Mario says he feels more like his uncle than his brother. He’s got tattoos for all of them—each parent and sibling gets their initial inked somewhere. Childhood was a blast for him, even if he got teased for being short (and yeah, he admits it stung, especially when the girls joined in). He was one of those kids who tried literally everything—sports, singing, dancing, whatever, though his attention span wasn’t exactly legendary. He started out doing commercials (Cola Cao, Telepizza, stuff like that) before acting properly grabbed him. His old friends from school? Still around. The real ones, the ride-or-die types. And when it comes to love, he’s dated a few actresses he’s worked with—María Valverde, Berta Vázquez, and, since 2018, Blanca Suárez. The two have teamed up on screen more than once, so, yeah, talk about mixing business with pleasure.
