Meghan Ory
Meghan Ory, born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, had acting in her blood—her mom’s a drama teacher, so, yeah, kind of inevitable. But get this, her mom actually put her foot down and banned her from film and TV auditions until she could cough up cash for her own headshots. Classic parent move, right? So young Meghan hit the stage first, grinding away in theater before she was even a teenager. Then she hustled her way onto the screen, snagging her first film gig in The Darklings back in ‘99, sharing credits with Suzanne Somers and Timothy Busfield. Not a bad place to start, honestly.
But acting’s not her only trick. Turns out Meghan’s got a knack for writing too. She penned a whole series of teen books called Chronicles of the Girl Wars. She’s described them as “Mean Girls meets Ugly Betty,” which basically tells you everything—snark, drama, and all the high school weirdness. Clearly, she mined her own teenage experiences for material, so you know it’s probably got that authentic cringe and chaos.
And if you thought she was done learning, nope—not even close. In 2012, she and her husband packed their bags for London to study Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. That’s some serious dedication to the craft. So, yeah, Meghan Ory isn’t just another Canadian face on screen; she’s got layers—actor, writer, student, and probably a whole lot more we haven’t seen yet.
