Midhun Venugopal
Midhun grew up in Kalpetta, Kerala, soaking up the kind of small-town energy that sticks with you. Before he ever hit the big screen, this guy was hustling as a theater artist in Bangalore. Yeah, juggling a day job as a design engineer and then moonlighting on stage—talk about burning the candle at both ends. He dipped his toes in the Kannada film industry, grabbing a few minor roles, but honestly, you could tell he wanted more. So, he made a gutsy move: quit the engineering gig, packed up, and headed back to Kerala to chase something bigger in Malayalam cinema. And eventually, all that grinding paid off when he landed a part in Dijo Jose Antony’s Queen back in 2018. That flick put him on the map, and suddenly, people started paying attention.
Since then, he hasn’t exactly been sitting on his hands. You’ve probably seen his work in Vellam (2021)—seriously, the dude’s got range. And if you think he’s slowing down, guess again. He’s lined up for some pretty solid projects. Prajesh Sen’s Meri Awas Suno is dropping soon, with heavy hitters like Jayasurya, Manju Warrier, and Sshivada sharing the screen. Plus, there’s Dijo Jose Antony’s Jana Gana Mana, which has Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu, so you know that’s gonna be big. He’s also attached to Secret of a Woman, another Prajesh Sen project, starring Niranjana Anoop. Not bad for a guy who started out in theater, right? It’s been a wild ride, and honestly, looks like he’s just getting started.
