Milo Parker
Milo Parker’s got one of those faces you remember—sharp, a little mischievous, like he’s about to get up to something. Born October 4, 2002, in Ipswich, England, he didn’t exactly take the slow road into acting. The guy’s like a magnet for weird, wonderful roles. Just look at his breakout in Mr. Holmes (2015): he plays Roger, the plucky housekeeper’s kid who worms his way into the affections of a grumpy, ancient Sherlock Holmes. The film’s honestly a slow burn, but Milo sneaks in with this spark—kind of cheeky, but genuine. It’s not every day you see a kid holding his own against Ian McKellen, but somehow, he pulls it off.
Skip to Robot Overlords (2014)—now we’re talking sci-fi, robots, rebellion, the whole shebang. Milo’s in the thick of it as one of the kids trying to survive in a world run by, well, robot overlords. It’s loud, nuts, and pure popcorn. He’s got this knack for playing smart, stubborn characters who don’t back down, which really works in a movie where running from killer machines is the daily grind.
Then there’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (2016). Milo slips into the role of Hugh, the bee boy—literally, the kid with bees living inside him. Only Tim Burton could dream up something that odd, right? But Milo just rolls with it, making Hugh feel both weird and endearing. Honestly, the guy’s got range. He bounces between genres, takes on bizarre parts, and somehow always finds the heart in the madness. Not bad for someone who started out in sleepy old Ipswich.
