Missagh Zareh
Misagh Zare, born in 1981, is one of those actors who’s been pretty much everywhere—literally. He kicked off his professional acting gig back in 2006, and since then, he’s been on screens and stages not just in Iran, but also popping up in Germany, Russia, and even Australia. Bit of a world traveler, right? He actually started out studying Graphics at Babol University, but then acting called his name, so he dived into it at Karnameh Institute in Tehran. Now, he’s not just some random face in the crowd—he’s worked with some heavy hitters, like Abbas Kiarostami and Asghar Farhadi, and got schooled by legends like Parviz Parastuyi and Parsa Piruzfar. It’s a pretty stacked lineup of mentors, honestly.
You might’ve spotted him in big-deal films like “I’m Not Angry!” by Reza Dormishian and “Lerd” from Mohammad Rasoulof. Other credits? Oh, he’s everywhere: “Tehroun” (2009), “Barf rooye kajha/Asabani nistam!” (2012), “Everything for Sale” (2012), “Duet” (2013), “Wind Action” (2014), “Biography” (2018), “Sara and Ayda” (2017), “I Am Diego Maradona” (2015), and “Estakhr.” Directors like Nader T. Homayoun, Payman Maadi, Amir Saghafi, Nima Farahi, Navid Danesh, Maryam Esmi Khani, Fatima Saghafi, Maziar Miri, Bahram Tavakoli, and Abed Abest have all snagged him for roles. Basically, if you’ve watched Iranian cinema in the last decade or so, you’ve probably seen Misagh Zare doing his thing.
