Philip Winchester
Philip Winchester, born March 24, 1981, out in Montana—yeah, that’s the wide-open spaces and cowboy boots kind of place—has carved out a pretty interesting path for himself in Hollywood. You might know him from “Strike Back,” where he’s basically the guy you’d want on your side if the world ever went to hell. The dude brings this tough, don’t-mess-with-me vibe, but he’s got serious range. Remember “The Player” from 2015? That show was a bit wild, but Winchester held it down as the lead, looking all slick and intense, basically running around Vegas trying to stop crime like it’s just another Tuesday. And then there’s “Law & Order: SVU.” That’s a show with more seasons than most people have pairs of socks, but Winchester managed to jump in and actually make an impression, which isn’t easy with a cast that stacked.
Off-screen, he married Megan Coughlin back in 2008. That’s a Hollywood eternity, honestly. They’ve got two kids, so on top of memorizing lines and probably pretending to defuse fake bombs or interrogate suspects on set, he’s doing the whole dad thing, too. Not bad for a Montana kid. Winchester’s not the loudest guy in the room, but he’s one of those actors where you spot him and go, “Oh yeah, this’ll be good.” He’s got that dependable, gritty energy, whether he’s saving the world or just holding down the family fort.
