Qais Masadeh
Qais Masadeh, man, this guy’s got his fingerprints all over some of the wildest sci-fi blockbusters in recent memory. If you’ve even glanced at the credits for Dune (2021), The Martian (2015), or, heck, Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019), you’ve probably seen his name pop up. He’s not front and center like your A-list actors, but wow, his work behind the scenes? Unmissable.
Let’s start with Dune. That movie—total feast for the eyes. The world-building is on another level, and you can bet Qais had his hands in crafting those sprawling deserts and crazy tech. It’s not just sand and spaceships; there’s a vibe to the whole thing that makes you feel like you could taste the spice, you know? Then there’s The Martian. Talk about taking us to Mars and making it actually feel like you’re stuck there with Matt Damon, eating potatoes and trying not to die. The visual effects? Solid. Qais’s crew crushed it, making Mars look both gorgeous and terrifying.
And then, Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker. Now, the movie itself had people arguing for days, but one thing pretty much everyone agrees on—the visuals are killer. Exploding planets, epic lightsaber fights, weird alien worlds…all that eye candy? Qais was in the mix, helping pull off the magic. He’s one of those unsung heroes who helps turn wild ideas into something you can actually see and feel on screen. Not a bad résumé, right?
