Rene G. Boscio
René G. Boscio—man, this guy’s got roots. Born and raised in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, he started messing around with music more than two decades ago, way before LA ever called his name. He’s this composer who’s got a knack for fusing those classic Latino acoustic vibes with mad experimental electronic sounds. Seriously, you listen to his stuff, and it’s not some cookie-cutter score—it’s alive, textured, a bit unpredictable.
Lately, he’s been getting all sorts of buzz for scoring Emergency (2022), that wild thriller-comedy which hit Sundance’s U.S. Dramatic Competition. That’s with director Carey Williams, by the way, and big names like Amazon and Temple Hill backing it. Before that, he was behind the music for R#J (2021)—that’s the Romeo & Juliet remix from Timur Bekmambetov.
You’ll catch his music all over TV too. He’s done work for Riverdale, Blindspot, The Flash, The Mentalist—honestly, he’s sprinkled his magic on a ton of shows, over a hundred episodes if you’re counting. And he’s not just off in a corner doing his own thing; he’s collaborated with heavy hitters like Blake Neely, Germaine Franco, and even Danny Elfman. Not too shabby, right? On top of all that, he’s got a solid academic background from the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico—music theory and classical composition, legit stuff. Next up, his scores will be vibing through Freeform’s The Watchful Eye. This dude’s everywhere, and his sound always hits different.
