Rick Hromadka’s story kicks off in Rockville Center, NY, but honestly, the real magic started in New Haven, CT, where being a musician wasn’t just a hobby—it was pretty much his DNA. Fast forward, he bolts out to Los Angeles, chasing that music dream at the Guitar Institute of Technology. Not long after, he lands smack dab in the middle of Saban Entertainment, whipping up tunes for Power Rangers and Sweet Valley High. Not exactly what you’d expect, but hey, you gotta start somewhere, right? While he’s there, Rick dives into music editing, which ends up being a game-changer. Soon enough, Warner Brothers comes knocking. Next thing you know, Rick’s mixing sound for heavy-hitter TV like ER, Third Watch, and The West Wing. Not just that, the guy grabs three Emmys and three MPSE awards—no big deal, right? After crushing it at Warner, he hops over to Universal, working under the legendary Scott Hecker, polishing sound for movies like Zack Snyder’s “300,” “Watchmen,” and “Sucker Punch.” Six years fly by, and then DreamWorks Animation swoops in with an offer he can’t refuse. Now he’s the sound supervisor and re-recording mixer on just about every big release they’ve got. He doesn’t stop there—Rick’s also behind the scenes, mixing sound at DreamWorks theme parks all over the globe, from London to Beijing, plus the Comcast Universal Sphere in Philly. His latest gig? Sound supervisor and mixer for “Dog Man”—the film dropped January 31, 2025, and absolutely smashed it at the box office for two straight weeks in February.
