Robert Kulzer
Robert Kulzer’s name pops up a lot if you’re into sci-fi or action-heavy horror flicks. He’s had his hands all over the Resident Evil movies—yeah, those wild, zombie-packed rides that sort of ignore the laws of physics and logic, but honestly, who cares when you’re having that much fun? Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) and Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010) both carry Kulzer’s stamp, and you can feel it in the way every scene is dialed up to eleven. Explosions, slow-mo fight scenes, a never-ending parade of mutated baddies… it’s all there. The plot? Well, Alice (Milla Jovovich, obviously) is back, fighting her way through Umbrella Corporation hellscapes, dodging betrayals, and somehow always finding a way to do a backflip while shooting two guns at once. Logic takes a back seat, but the energy never lets up. Oh, and if you’re into space horror, Kulzer also produced Pandorum (2009)—that one’s got a totally different vibe. It’s dark, claustrophobic, and full of twisty sci-fi mind-benders. The story follows a couple of astronauts who wake up on a seemingly abandoned spaceship, only to realize, surprise, they’re not alone. It’s creepy, tense, and a little bit bonkers, but in the best way. Whether it’s zombies or space nightmares, Kulzer’s movies are all about cranking up the tension, throwing in a bunch of wild set pieces, and making sure you never get too comfortable.
