Sameer Saxena isn’t just another name in the Indian web series world—he’s basically the guy who keeps showing up on the credits of everything people actually want to watch. You’ve got Kaala Paani, Panchayat, Kota Factory, Gullak, Yeh Meri Family, Tripling, Permanent Roommates…yeah, he’s been steering the ship for all those shows. On Netflix, he’s the showrunner, director, and producer of Kaala Paani, and he even directed Jaadugar, a film that popped up on the platform too. The guy actually sat on the International Emmys jury for two years—so, not exactly a rookie move. Before diving into the entertainment pool, Sameer was the Chief Content Officer at The Viral Fever, back when TVF was shaping India’s whole digital series wave. Then he decided to build his own thing: Posham Pa Pictures, with Biswapati Sarkar, Amit Golani, and Saurabh Khanna. Under that banner, he’s rolled out shows like Home Shanti, Kaala Paani (again, because everybody wants a piece), and another Netflix series in the pipeline, plus Jaadugar. What’s kind of wild is, before all the scripts and cameras, Sameer was deep into the world of engineering—he’s an IIT Bombay grad, no less. After that, he spent seven years as a strategic and supply chain management consultant. And just to make things a little more creative, he actually comes from a family of professional musicians and artists. So, yeah, he’s been mixing logic with a serious dose of creativity for a while now.
