Santhu
Santhu’s filmography is a bit of a wild ride, honestly. Let’s start with “College Kumar” (2017)—now, that’s a flick that doesn’t just play the usual campus comedy card. It digs deeper into the whole Indian obsession with higher education, but not in a preachy way. There’s this father-son duo: dad’s a peon, kid’s not exactly topping the class, but the old man’s dead set on making his son something more. The whole film spins around their tug-of-war with dreams, family baggage, and the pressure cooker that is Indian college culture. You get your laughs, yeah, but there’s also this bittersweet punch that sneaks up on you.
Jump to “Victory 2” (2018)—full-on masala entertainment. Double roles, mistaken identities, over-the-top drama, and a plot that’s basically a rollercoaster with no brakes. Santhu’s energy is nuts in this one; the comedy timing, the physical humor, even the chase scenes—everything’s dialed up to eleven. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is kind of the point. Fans of the first film definitely get their money’s worth with all the chaos and punchlines.
Then there’s the upcoming “Thug CR 143/24” (2025). Not much is out there yet, but word is, Santhu’s stepping into grittier territory. Crime, suspense, maybe even a little noir vibe. People are already buzzing about it, and if the early teasers are anything to go by, he’s about to shake off the comedy tag and show everyone he can bring the heat when it counts.
