Seishirô Katô
Seishirô Katô, born August 4, 2001, in Kanagawa, Japan, is one of those actors who seems to have been around forever, even though he’s still super young. Seriously, he started showing up in movies when most of us were still figuring out how to tie our shoes. People mostly know him from his work in “Ansatsu Kyôshitsu” (2015), which, if you haven’t seen it, is this completely wild blend of sci-fi, action, and a bit of school drama. He plays the kind of character who just gets under your skin—in a good way—bringing a ton of attitude and heart to the role, which is honestly rare for someone his age.
He also popped up in “Ai to Makoto” (2012), which is this over-the-top, stylized romance that’s a bit of a cult favorite. He’s not just some background extra either; you can actually see him holding his own next to actors with way more experience. And then there’s “Ansatsu Kyôshitsu: Sotsugyô Hen” (2016), the follow-up to the original, where he takes his character to another level. If you like seeing a young actor actually flex some dramatic muscle instead of just standing there looking cute, Seishirô’s your guy.
What’s cool is he’s not pigeonholed into one genre—he bounces from action to romance to drama without missing a beat. Whether he’s making you laugh, cry, or just shake your head in disbelief, he’s got this energy that pulls you in. Not every actor can pull that off, especially this early in their career. Keep an eye on him; he’s definitely not fading into the background anytime soon.
