Sina Martens, honestly, she’s got that kind of resume that makes you wonder if she ever sleeps. She kicked off her acting chops at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig—yeah, try saying that five times fast. Even back then, she was already rubbing elbows with some pretty heavy-hitting directors: Hans-Werner Kroesinger, Rainald Grebe, Sebastian Hartmann. Not bad for someone still hitting the books. Then, like something out of a movie, Oliver Reese spots her and ropes her into Schauspiel Frankfurt. Next thing you know, she’s at the Berliner Ensemble, which, in German theater circles, is basically the big leagues. She’s not just hanging in the background either—Martens is front and center, nabbing leading roles in productions put on by Alexander Eisenach, Bernadette Sonnenbichler, Frank Castorf… the list goes on. You know those actors who seem to just collect awards like it’s a hobby? That’s her. She’s got the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research award, the German National Academic Foundation fellowship, plus a nod from the Berlin Theatertreffen International Forum. Oh, and Theater heute named her Young Actress of the Year. Casual. She’s not just a stage kid, either. You’ll catch her on screen in projects with directors like Andreas Dresen, Irene von Alberti, Lars Becker, Marc Schießer, Arman T.
