Steve Barnett
Barnett’s basically been everywhere in Hollywood for over two decades—yeah, the guy’s got receipts. He’s sunk his teeth into every corner of the film business: development, production, money wrangling, distribution, marketing, you name it. Because of all that, he’s got this insane web of contacts—think every studio, agency, and big-name talent. It’s wild. The man’s films have raked in over a billion bucks at the box office. Not bad, right?
He’s not just about the numbers, though. Barnett’s touched over 25 movies, running the gamut from big-budget action to family flicks. He’s had his fingerprints on hits like 300 (yeah, that 300), The Spiderwick Chronicles, and The Mist—so, not exactly small potatoes. He even shepherded Mark Felt: The Man Who Took Down The White House, with Liam Neeson putting on his best “deep throat” face, and he’s got a fantasy film, Come Away, with Angelina Jolie and David Oyelowo, in the pipeline.
Somewhere along the way, Barnett got the bug for faith-friendly movies, kicking off with the adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’s A Walk To Remember. He produced Priceless (Grammy and KLOVE nominations, no big deal), and under Monarch, helped push out A Week Away, Netflix’s first faith-friendly musical. These days, he’s running the show at Monarch Media, guiding a whole slate of film and TV projects from idea to screen. Basically? If you’re watching a movie he touched, you know it’s got his stamp all over it.
