Steven Michael Quezada
Steven Michael Quezada’s basically a New Mexico legend at this point. Dude studied theatre at Eastern New Mexico University before sliding into the film scene just as it was heating up. Most folks know him as DEA Agent Steven Gomez on Breaking Bad—yeah, that Breaking Bad, the one that took over TV and basically redefined “must-watch.” But he’s popped up all over the place: Wildfire, Crash, In Plain Sight… the guy’s been busy.
He just wrapped up starring in Light From The Darkroom, and you can catch him in the George Lopez flick La Vida Robot. Remember Beerfest? He’s in that too, mixing it up with the Broken Lizard crew. Oh, and if you blinked, you probably missed him sharing the screen with Joe Pesci and Helen Mirren in Love Ranch, or with Guy Pearce in First Snow. His short film Milagros grabbed a bunch of attention at film festivals and even got him a Best Actor nod in Spain. Not bad, huh? And let’s not forget that Screen Actors Guild nomination for Breaking Bad’s killer ensemble.
But honestly, Quezada’s not just an actor—he’s been keeping people laughing since the ‘80s, touring comedy clubs everywhere. Five-time Comedian of the Year from the New Mexico Hispanic Entertainers Association? Yeah, he’s got jokes. HBO, Showtime, opening for Rob Schneider and Anjelah Johnson, even killing it on The Arsenio Hall Show—he’s done it all.
When he’s not in front of a camera or mic, he’s busy giving back. Seriously, he’s raised cash for youth orgs, taught acting to local kids, and even sits on the school board. Family guy, golf nut, all-around New Mexico staple.
