Man, this guy’s face is everywhere. Seriously, you can’t flip through Egyptian cinema or TV without bumping into him. Started out on the small screen back in ’86 with “Backiza and Zaghloul”—just a low-key gig, nothing flashy, but you could already tell he had that spark. Then boom, he pops up in “Terrorism and Kebab” in ’92, and suddenly everyone’s like, “Wait, who’s this dude?” After that, it’s like someone opened the floodgates. He dives headfirst into film after film, show after show. You’ve got “Birds of Darkness,” “Sleeping in Honey,” “Hammam in Amsterdam”—the man just doesn’t quit. And it’s not like he sticks to one thing, either. Comedy? Nailed it. Drama? No problem. He’s bouncing between theater, movies, TV series, and even popping up in programs—dude’s a machine. I mean, we’re talking 150+ different roles. That’s not just dabbling, that’s living and breathing the craft. Some actors fade into the background after a while, but not this guy. He’s basically woven into the fabric of contemporary Egyptian entertainment. What’s wild is how he manages to keep it fresh every time. You never really know what you’re gonna get—maybe he’s the goofball, maybe he’s got a darker edge, maybe he’s just there to steal the scene for five minutes and dip. Doesn’t matter; he owns it. If you’re flipping channels and he’s on, you stop and watch. That’s just how it goes.
