Susan Misner
Susan Misner’s got one of those careers that makes you wonder if she ever sleeps. Born in Paterson, Jersey, back in ’71, she kicked off her story in Pompton Plains, where dance basically stole her heart. Next thing you know, she’s in New York, lighting up Broadway in classics like Guys and Dolls, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and Dream. Not bad for a Jersey girl, right?
But Misner didn’t just stick to dancing onstage—she jumped straight into acting and landed a spot on One Life to Live as Grace Davidson. No big deal, just a legendary soap. Then she hit the big screen, popping up in Woody Allen’s Everyone Says I Love You, the Oscar-winning Chicago, Stick It in Detroit, Two Weeks, Somebody’s Hero, Cayman Went, and Hope Springs. That’s a lot of movie popcorn.
She didn’t stop there—she even turned up in music videos for C&C Music Factory and Taylor Dayne, which, if you know your ‘90s jams, is pretty iconic. TV-wise, Susan’s been all over the place: she played Jessica Arndt on CBS’s Person of Interest, showed up in the twisty thriller The Following as Jenny Mitchell (Kevin Bacon connection, anyone?), and grabbed a role as Sandra Beeman in The Americans. Oh, and she did a stint as Dr. Stacey Douglas on Nashville—because why not? Basically, if you’ve watched anything decent in the last couple of decades, you’ve probably seen Susan Misner doing her thing.
