Toomas Kolk
Toomas Kolk – yeah, that guy – exploded into the Estonian pop culture scene back in 2012, thanks to his wild ride through Pop Idol Estonia. People just couldn’t stop talking about his voice, this thunderous baritone that made half the judges swoon and the other half, well, a little freaked out. Anyway, he didn’t win, but honestly, who cares? He was already getting offers left and right to lend his pipes to cartoon villains, movie trailers, you name it. The guy’s been everywhere—voice-overs, snarky music commentary on radio, all that jazz.
But acting? That’s where things got spicy. He landed this meaty role as Kristjan Palusalu, the legendary Olympic champ, in The Whores—hands down one of the biggest TV hits in Estonia during 2018. Dude went all in for the part, packing on twenty pounds of muscle and nuking his hair with bleach—dedication, man. The show was such a hit, they brought him back for the sequel, The Women’s War, in 2020, and he just kept crushing it.
Not one to be boxed in, Kolk also jumped into the horror ring with Eerie Fairy Tales in 2019, showing off a completely different side. And let’s not forget, he’s a legit opera singer—like, trained and everything—but somehow he still finds time to drop raunchy, clever rap tracks that make you laugh and blush at the same time. The dude’s got layers—actor, singer, commentator, rapper. Try keeping up.
