Travis Burns
Travis Burns, born and bred in Bacchus Marsh, Victoria, is about as Aussie as it gets, even if there’s a bit of English and German in the bloodline. His mum’s a hairdresser, his dad’s out there doing the tradie thing, and he’s got a sister plus a couple of nephews running around. Growing up, Travis was basically that kid who could do everything—basketball, football, baseball, swimming, you name it. If it involved moving fast or jumping in the water, he was all in.
The guy’s got this wild streak for adventure, especially out in the ocean. Not content with just the usual beach stuff, he went all out and became an advanced open water diver. We’re not just talking basic scuba—Travis got into underwater photography, navigational diving, gear tinkering, and even rescue diving. Basically, if there was a way to push himself underwater, he found it.
School-wise, he finished up at Bacchus Marsh College in 2008, then headed to Photographic Imaging College for a couple of years. Came out with a Bachelor’s in Photographic Imaging—so yeah, the guy can work a camera as well as he can work a scene.
His big break? He landed a spot on the American action-drama “SAF3” over on the CW. Not bad for a bloke from a small town. But he really made waves snagging the role of Tyler Brennan on the classic Aussie soap “Neighbours.” If you’ve watched Aussie TV in the last decade, you’ve probably seen his mug.
