Will Sasso
Will Sasso, hailing from Ladner, British Columbia—yeah, that’s near Vancouver—grew up in a house where the TV was basically a family member. Italian roots, lots of laughs, and a kid who probably watched way too much comedy way too young. Kinda explains why he started dreaming about acting so early. By the time he was fifteen, he’d already snagged an agent and was popping up on TV and in movies left and right. He spent five seasons as Derek Wakaluk, the oddball teen, on that Canadian show Madison. That gig didn’t just let him flex his improv muscles, it also paid enough to get his own TV, so the cycle continued.
Then came MADtv, where Sasso really showed off. For five seasons, he played everything from the clumsy Paul Timberman to a parade of wild impressions—Bill Clinton, Kenny Rogers, Arnold Schwarzenegger… you name it. Fans loved staying up late for his bits. After a solid run, he bounced in 2002, ready for whatever came next.
You’ve definitely seen him in movies, whether you realize it or not—Best in Show, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Beverly Hills Ninja (with Chris Farley, no less), The Hot Chick, and even Happy Gilmore. Dude’s got more than twenty-five films under his belt, so he’s kind of everywhere.
Lately, you could catch him as Carl Monari on the ABC sitcom Less Than Perfect, popping up weekly and keeping the laughs coming.
