Storyline
Shashi and his pal Akbar are dead set against dowry—like, hardcore. They make this legit vow with a bunch of other young folks to never give or take dowry, no matter what. Shashi’s mom? Not thrilled, but he goes ahead and marries Sugandha Srivastav without taking a single rupee. He even hooks up his sister Rama with Ravi Verma, whose parents (Goverdhan and Shakuntala) are salty because, guess what, no dowry for them either. Ravi’s cool with it, but his parents? Not so much. They get so petty that they want Ravi to ditch Rama just to score some dowry cash from another marriage. They pack Ravi off and Goverdhan—what a guy—actually tries to kill Rama. Total disaster though, because Shakuntala ends up badly burned instead. Of course, Goverdhan blames Rama for the whole mess, landing her in jail. Now Shashi’s got to pull out all the stops to save his sister, even though everything points to her being guilty. Talk about family drama on steroids.
