WARSAW, Sept 27 (Askume) – The death toll from deadly floods that hit southwestern Poland this month has risen to nine, police said. They said two more bodies were found during the clean-up.

This month, central Europe was hit by the worst flooding in at least two decades , killing at least 26 people.

The floods have caused massive devastation from Romania to Poland, covering cities with mud and debris, destroying bridges, submerging cars and causing billions of dollars in losses to officials and homeowners.

Polish police said on the social media platform

“Identification efforts are ongoing. The circumstances of the deaths indicate that these may be the eighth and ninth victims to die in the flood-affected areas.”
