Storyline
Beth remembers how the church Christmas pageant in her tiny hometown of Emmanuel was basically the most “meh” event ever for the kids, even though the adults loved it—probably because it never changed. Same old story, same old Mrs. Armstrong in charge, year after year. But then Mrs. Armstrong gets knocked out of commission, and Beth’s mom, who’s usually ignored by the town’s queen bees, steps up to direct. Beth’s nervous, obviously, hoping her mom doesn’t screw it up and make them a laughingstock. But then it goes totally off the rails when the infamous Herdman kids—think wild, unruly, never-set-foot-in-church types—barge in and grab all the main roles: Mary, Joseph, the Wise Men, Angel, the whole shebang. Suddenly, the most well-behaved tradition gets hijacked by the town terrors, and everyone’s on edge. Beth’s rooting for her mom, but honestly, no one knows what’s about to happen next. Chaos, drama, and a Christmas pageant nobody’s ever gonna forget.
