Storyline
Nina’s got this wild imagination, probably inherited from her dad who’s into filmmaking, but honestly? Her brother Junior couldn’t care less about her stories—he’s wrapped up in his own clumsy magic tricks and thinks she’s just being dramatic. After their mom passed away, things got even messier at home. Suddenly, her dad’s falling for someone new, and Nina’s not exactly thrilled, feeling like she’s losing her grip on what’s left of her family. The only person who seems to really get her is this quirky, free-spirited writer who lives next door. With her help, Nina starts pouring her feelings into stories, trying to sort out her tangled emotions about her mom, this possible new stepmom, and, oh yeah, her first real crush (which is a whole other mess). Somewhere along the way, she realizes she’s not just making up stories anymore—her actual life is shaping up like one of her own novels, full of weird twists, heartbreak, and maybe some hope, if she’s brave enough to let it in.
