Storyline
Wonderland tosses you straight into this virtual afterlife thing—basically, people jump in to see loved ones they thought they’d lost forever. No magic, just A.I. doing its best impression of the people you’re missing. You’ve got a woman in her twenties, desperate enough to ask for her boyfriend who’s been in a coma, and then there’s this older guy, probably pushing midlife crisis, wanting to see his wife who’s already passed away. It’s all bittersweet and a bit trippy, because you’re watching people try to heal, or maybe just cling to what they can’t let go of. The tech is wild, but honestly, the emotions are what hit hardest—grief, hope, all tangled up. The movie doesn’t sugarcoat it either: this isn’t about happy endings, more like messy goodbyes and second chances that don’t always go how you want. Wonderland asks what you’d risk or relive if you could see someone one last time, even if it’s not really them.
