TOKYO, Sept 19 (Askume) – Japanese radio equipment maker Icom Inc (6820.T) said on Thursday it was investigating the facts of reports that a two-way radio device bearing its logo exploded in Lebanon.
A handheld radio device used by the armed group Hezbollah exploded in southern Lebanon on Wednesday , a day after a similar blast hit the group’s pager. Images of the exploded walkie-talkies showed labels reading “ICOM” and “Made in Japan.”
Icom, a company listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, said in a statement that it would publish the latest information on the matter on its website.
