HOUSTON, Sept 19 (Askume) – Construction contractor Kiewit said on Thursday it had reached an agreement with liquefied natural gas developer Venture Global LNG over information provided to Shell PLC (SHEL.L) about its Calcasieu Pass LNG plant .

Venture Global filed for arbitration against Kiewit on August 2, claiming he handed confidential documents to Shell in a dispute over the commercial production status of its Louisiana LNG facility.

“There is no litigation pending; the matter has been resolved,” Kiewit Energy President Tom Shelby said on the sidelines of the Gastec energy conference.

Venture Global LNG and several long-term contract customers are in contractual arbitration over failure to deliver cargoes from the plant. Shell, BP (BP.L) , Repsol (REP.MC) , Gallup (GALP.LS) and Orlen (PKN.WA) have been unable to secure cargoes of LNG even years after the plants began producing and exporting.

Venture Global was not immediately available for comment.

“This information was turned over to Kiewit so that it could construct a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal that Venture Global is developing in Cameron Parish, Louisiana,” Venture Global said in a filing in New York State Supreme Court.

The contractors allegedly shared confidential information related to the design and construction of the multibillion-dollar facility, including proprietary project development, design, and configuration methodologies.

Shelby declined to say whether the Louisiana plant was currently operating normally, saying that was an issue for Venture Global.
