JAKARTA, Sept 19 (Askume) – Indonesia’s parliament on Thursday passed newly elected President Prabowo Subianto’s first budget for 2025, setting spending at 362.13 trillion rupiah ($237 billion), with the fiscal deficit expected to be less than 2.53% of gross domestic product.

The budget projects economic growth of 5.2% , slightly higher than the 5.1% forecast for 2024, with a revenue target of Rs 3,005.1 trillion.

The budget outlines key programmes of Prabowo’s incoming government, including a Rs 71 trillion free meal policy for children, free health check-ups, construction of hospitals and renovation of schools, and food security measures.

Prabowo will begin his five-year term on October 20.
