Sept 19 (Askume) – Walt Disney Animation Studios on Thursday appointed Academy Award-winning filmmaker Jared Bush as its new chief creative officer in a major leadership change, effective immediately.

Bush, the creative force behind hits such as “Encanto,” “Zootopia” and the screenwriter of the Oscar-nominated hit “Moana,” replaces the man best known for directing the hugely successful “Frozen.”

Lee joined Walt Disney Animation Studios in 2011 as co-writer of “Wreck-It Ralph” and writer of “Frozen.” After serving as CCO since 2018, she will now focus on directing and writing Frozen 3 and co-writing Frozen 4 with Mark Smith.

Bush, who has been with Disney for more than a decade, will oversee creative operations for the iconic animation studio, including its films, series and related projects, Disney said in a statement.

Bush is currently producing “Zootopia 2” and serves as a writer and executive producer on the upcoming “Moana 2,” both set to release in late 2025, Disney said.
